Dr Poney Chiang
Founder, Neuro-Meridian Acupuncture System
Founder of the Neuro-Meridian Acupuncture system — integrating classical Chinese medicine with modern neuroscience for immediate, measurable clinical results. An internationally recognised educator and Acupuncturist.
Dr Chiang holds a PhD in Medical Science from the University of Toronto and a Master's in Oriental Medicine, and his work bridges the laboratory and the treatment room. His research uses MRI imaging to map the peripheral neuro-anatomy of Acupuncture points and their connections to specific regions of the brain — the foundation of the neuro-modulation needle techniques he teaches.
He is Founding Director and Adjunct Professor of the Integrative Acupuncture Program at York University, and a Professor at the American Neuro-Acupuncture Institute in Santa Fe. He was the primary author of the revised edition of Fundamentals of Chinese Acupuncture, featuring over 400 dissected acupoint illustrations, and has served his profession as a licensing examination writer and committee member for Ontario's College of Traditional Chinese Medicine.
