About This Seminar
This seminar introduces developments in the Brain theory of Chinese medicine, the channel of the Brain, the Brain patterns, and the commonly used Brain-related techniques such as scalp Acupuncture and the Dao-qi technique.
Focus areas include neurological and psychological diseases — stroke, Alzheimer's Disease, dementia, Parkinson's disease, autism, brain injuries, depression, anxiety and insomnia. The approach combines Western and Chinese medicine perspectives and is mostly practice-based, including demonstrations and hands-on practice.

TCM Brain Theory & Du Mai
Foundation of TCM Brain theory — historical context, brain functions, pathological changes, relationship to Shen, and modern research. Du Mai in the classics, modern research linking Du Mai to the Brain, clinical application and Brain pattern treatment selection.
Scalp Acupuncture 1
Foundation, styles, location and indications of the 18 commonly used scalp Acupuncture zones.
Scalp Acupuncture 2 & Dao-qi
Scalp Acupuncture techniques and clinical application; the Dao-qi technique — foundation of De-qi/Dao-qi, Du Mai Dao-qi needling, sample points and cases.
Neurological & Emotional Disorders
Treatment of neurological diseases (stroke, Parkinson's, dementia, MS, autism, brain injuries) and emotional disorders (depression, anxiety, insomnia).

Professor Tianjun Wang
Graduated from Nanjing University of Chinese Medicine in 1989 and worked as a Medical Doctor and Acupuncturist in a Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital in Nanjing for 18 years. PhD in Acupuncture treatment for depression. Senior Lecturer at the University of East London (2007–2014). Principal of the London Academy of Chinese Acupuncture; Vice President of the Scalp Acupuncture Committee, World Federation of Chinese Medicine Societies; President of the Institute of Scalp Acupuncture UK.
